WiNoDa Data Expedition: a five-week journey of supported self-study

We have put a lot of effort into creating self-paced courses on our Moodle platform, focusing on the many different aspects of the data life cycle, always with scientific collections in the focus.
With the start of the new winter semester, we would like to give you the opportunity to join the WiNoDa Data Expedition: a five-week journey of supported self-study. Here you’ll have the opportunity to receive a personal introduction, interact with course creators, ask questions, clarify doubt and even brainstorm possible applications of what you’ve just learned. You’ll also meet other course participants, with which you’ve perhaps crossed paths at a webinar or workshop, but never had the chance to get to know better.
We’ll inaugurate the journey on October 1st, with an online kick-off session where we’ll introduce the courses, answer questions and get to know one another.
From that point onwards, your Data Expedition begins! Over the next five weeks, you’ll work through our self-study courses at your own pace, choosing the modules you find the most interesting. Pick as many as you wish, the sky is the limit!
As you follow your own learning path through the jungle of the data lifecycle, you’ll be able to gather, process and analyse novel knowledge and discuss how to apply it in new contexts. For every course you complete, you’ll receive badges and a certificate.
Throughout the process we will support you by answering questions in our forum (available here [https://winoda.de/community/]) and during the open consultation hours, which we will announce during the kick-off. We look forward to discussing with you the exciting learning resources we prepared!
Finally, to round things off, we’ll all meet up once more on November 5th for a joint wrap-up session. Here we would love to hear how the learning process went for you, how the courses and the format worked out, and what you’d like to see in the future from WiNoDa.
We look forward to exploring the world of research data with you!
There is no registration deadline, you can join also after the kick-off event. To take part to the journey, please register here.
