Ecology Field Training: Data Collection and Analysis at Lower Oder Valley

Would you like to gain hands-on fieldwork and data science experience while contributing to an ongoing transnational research project? Then join the WiNoDa Ecology Field Training: Data Collection and Analysis at Lower Oder Valley!
Taking place from 21–25 July 2026 in the Lower Oder Valley National Park (Germany), this hands-on Summer School will teach you how to:
- Map and characterise habitats of small mammal trap plots
- Collect, organise, and analyse ecological field data using QGIS/Qfield
- Work with field samples using modern fieldwork tools and data science methods
This is a unique opportunity to combine fieldwork, data science, and ecological research in a collaborative and inspiring setting.
The summer school will be conducted primarily in English; German-speaking participants are also welcome. Participation is free of charge. Accommodation and meals are covered; participants are expected to organise and cover their own travel, however, support may be available upon request in cases of financial hardship.
A limited number of places is available. Applications will be reviewed based on motivation, relevance of background, and the aim to form a diverse group. The application deadline is May 17th 2026. Applicants will be notified by May 29th 2026.
