[Webinar] Practical Passive Acoustic Monitoring with Audiomoth for Birds, Bats and Orthoptera

October 28 @ 11:00 - 12:00 CET

Passive acoustic monitoring is a way of studying wildlife by recording the sounds they make, such as songs or echolocation. This field has advanced rapidly with the development of affordable devices like Audiomoth and new software that can automatically classify thousands of recordings, reducing the amount of manual work needed. With tools like opensoundscape, researchers can build their own classifiers for new species groups or regions that have not been studied before. This makes it possible to monitor different animal groups at the same time and encourages collaboration between researchers.

In this webinar, we will give a short beginner-friendly introduction to passive acoustic monitoring with Audiomoths and show a workflow for classifying and analyzing recordings of birds, bats, and orthoptera.
